1. WHO IS TO PREACH?
Paul, by inspiration, wrote this in Il Thessalonians 2:2: “And the things that thou hast heard of me among
many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.” We can
learn more about who is to preach by carefully reading Romans 2:21. We ought to practice what we preach
and preach what we practice.
2. WHAT SHOULD A PREACHER PREACH?
The Gospel preacher must preach Christ. We should hide behind the cross of Christ. We are told in Acts
8:5 that “Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ to them.” Upon one occasion Paul
wrote this, “Unto me, who am less than the cast of all saints, in this unsearchable riches of Christ,
(Ephesians 3:8).
3. HOW SHALL THEY PREACH?
Paul said he was not to preach “with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none
effect,” (1 Corinthians 1:17). How should we preach? “If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of
God.” (1 Peter 4:11). We must preach in the name, or by the authority, of Christ. The preaching should
be bold, earnest, kind and loving.
4. WHY SHOULD ANY MAN PREACH?
God, through Paul, commanded Timothy to preach the Word. Christ commanded the apostles to go into
all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature (Mark 16:15-16). “It pleased God by the foolishness
of preaching to save them that believe.” (1 Corinthians 1:21). God has no other way of saving souls than
by having the Gospel preached to them.
5. WHERE SHOULD THE PREACHING BE DONE?
“Go ye into all thw world, and preach the Gospel to every creature.” This the early church did. About
thirty years after this command was given we heard Paul saying: “Be not moved away from the hope of
the Gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven.”
(Colossians 1:28) May the dear Lord help us to think on these things.

“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” “How then shall they call on him in
whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe on him of whom they have not heard? and how
shall shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach except they be sent? Romans 10:13-15
