The Christ many people believe in is too small. Many of us need to gain a larger conception of Jesus in
relation to our personal lives. Actually, Jesus Christ is adequate fo all the needs of life. He has a claim
on our supreme loyalty, and he deserves to be shared with all the world.
1. Is Christ big enough to be TRUSTED FOR YOUR ETERNAL SALVATION?
1. Peter testified, “Lord, to whom shall we go? thou has the words of eternal life” (John 6:68) and again.
“There is none other name under heaven. whereby we must be saved” (Acts 4:12).
2. Paul confessed, “I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which
I have committed unto him against that day” II Timothy 1:12.
3. If your Christ is not that big, you need a bigger Christ. The fact is, he is that big, and he wants to
become that big in your life.
2. Is He big enough to MEET YOUR NEED IN THE TIME OF SEVERE TRIAL?
1. The disciples in the storm of Galilee found that Jesus was amply able to meet their need (Matthew
8:23-27).
2. If he is not that big to you, you need a bigger Christ. But in reality he is that big, and he wants to
become that big in your life.
3. Is he big enough to CLAIM THE SUPREME LOYALTY OF YOUR LIFE?
1. He has said, “If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow
me” (Matthew 16:24).
2. The first disciples gave up everything for him.
3. So did Saul of Tarus.
4. Martyrs, missionaries, and faithful Christians through the centuries have done likewise.
5. If Jesus is not that big to you, you need a bigger Christ. Really, he is that big, and he wants to become
that big in your life.
4. Is he big enough to make you want to SHARE HIM WITH ALL THE WORLD?
1. He expects his followers to be His witnesses to all the world (Luke 24:46-48, Matthew 28:19 Acts 1:8).
2. If He is not that big to you, you need a bigger Christ. Actually he is that big and He wants to become
that big in your life. Will you let Him?
THE OLD RUGGED CROSS
On a hill far away stood an old rugged cross, the emblem of suffering and shame, And I love
that old cross where the dearest and best. For a world of lost sinners was slain. So I’ll cherish
the old rugged cross, Till my trophies I lay down: I will cling to the old rugged cross and exchange
it some day for a crown.
