1. Christ Gives us His Riches for our Poverty.
II Corinthians 8.9. – “For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your
sake he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.
2. Christ Gives His Joy for our Sorrow.
John 16.20 – “Verily, verily, I say unto you, That ye shall weep and lament, but the world shall rejoice; and ye shall be sorrowful, but your sorrow shall be turned into joy.”
II Corinthians 7:10 – “For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.”
3. Christ Gives us His Peace for our Trouble.
John 14:27. -“Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the worls giveth, give I unto you.
Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”
4. Christ Gives us His Love for our Hatred.
Colossians 1:21 – “We are enemies in our minds by wicked works” against God. Romans 8:7 – “Our carnal mind is enmity aganist God.”
John 15:25 – “We have hated him without a cause.” John 15:13 – “Greater love hath no man than this,
that a man lay down his life for his friends.”
5. Christ Gives us His Righteousness for our Rags.
Isaiah 64:6 – “But we are alas an unclean thing, and all our righteousness are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.”
II Corinthians 5:21 – “For God hath made Christ to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.”
6. Christ Gives us His Life For our Death.
Romans 5:15 – “But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many
be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift of grace, which is of one man, Jesus Christ, has abounded unto many.”
Ephesians 2:5 – “Even when we were dead in sins, God hath quickened us together with Christ.”
7. Christ Gives us His Glory for our Shame – Like Adam and Eve in the Garden.
John 17.22 “And the glory once which thou gavest me (Christ praying to the Father) I have given them; that may be one, even as we are one.”
Psalm 113.7-8 – “He raised up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth the needy out of the dunghill; that we may set him with princes, even with the princes of his people.”
